Visit Site Zero in Motala, Sweden
EPS-branchen arrangerer sammen med de nordiske EPS-foreninger besøg på Site Zero i Motala, Sverige.
Study Tour to Site Zero:
Swedish Plastic Recycling – Svensk Plaståtervinning – which is owned by a large part of the Swedish business community, has invested heavily in a new project that aims to make the incineration of plastic waste in Sweden a thing of the past.
Located in Motala, Sweden, the company has invested SEK 1 billion – just over EUR 98 million – in the development of what is claimed to be the world’s largest and most modern facility for plastic recycling. The new facility, dubbed Site Zero, is at the site of the existing facility.
In the middle of November 2023, Site Zero opened the doors and began operations. The operations include sorting of EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) from Swedish Households. BEWI, a leading European provider of packaging, components, and insulation solutions, has signed a letter of intent with Swedish Plastic Recycling to recycle expanded polystyrene (EPS) from their planned facility Site Zero in Motala, Sweden. The EPS volume from the new plant is estimated to amount to 1,000 to 3,000 tonnes per year.
