Seminar: Design, materials and plastic recycling

How to design with plastic – or for recycling?
On June 2nd 2016 at FORCE Technology in Brøndby, Denmark, a free seminar will be held in co-operation with The Danish Plastics Federation, targeted for designers and companies that produce raw materials and plastic products from recycled plastic, but open for everyone.

Important decisions are taken at the early design stage when form, aesthetics, user experience and properties of a product is laid down.ResourceLAB invites actors from the plastic recycling value chain to join this seminar and learn more about how to integrate ‘plastic recycling’ at the product design stage.

On June 2nd The Danish Plastics Federation, the Innovation Network for Enivronmental Technologies (Inno-MT) and Force Technology are in co-operation hosting a seminar on Deisgn, materials and plastic recycling. The seminar will be a mixture of theoretical input, case studies and small workshop sessions with the objective of providing knowledge in the area of ‘Design, materials and plastic recycling’.

The seminar will focus on both the methodology and process, “how to” design for plastic recycling, and more technical material design considerations.
Please note that the workshop will be held in English.

The speakers will be:

  • Anne Farken, associate director of Sustainability and Creative Consulting at BMW Designworks.
  • Boris Berlin, industrial designer mDd, graduate of the Institute of Applied Arts and Design, St. Petersburg 1975.
  • Nicolai Sørensen, from HarritSorensen, a Danish industrial design firm founded in 1991 by partners Thomas Harrit and Nicolai Sørensen.
